Hello everyone!
My name is Jekaterina (ケイト), and I am very happy to be your new Japanese language teacher. I have a great passion for the Japanese language and culture, and I am excited to share this journey with you.
I am Latvian University graduate with BA and MA in Asian studies, specialising in Japanese language and culture. I have participated in exchange program twice in Japan, Akita International University and I am a holder of JLPT N2 (Japanese language test level 2)
In our classes, we will not only learn grammar and vocabulary, but also explore Japanese traditions, communication styles, and everyday expressions. My goal is to create a friendly and supportive environment where everyone feels comfortable learning and practicing Japanese.
Whether you are a complete beginner or already have some experience, I hope we can learn together step by step and enjoy the process.

My teaching methodology is focused on creating a comfortable, engaging, and practical learning environment for every student. Lessons are personalized according to each student’s level, goals, and learning style.
Classes are conducted in an interactive and supportive way, combining speaking, listening, reading, and writing practice. I believe that consistent communication and real-life examples help students learn Japanese more naturally.
During lessons, we will work on:
• Vocabulary and grammar step by step
• Pronunciation and speaking practice
• Reading and writing Hiragana, Katakana, and Kanji
• Listening comprehension
• Everyday conversations
• Japanese culture and communication style
I use a combination of textbooks, visual materials, conversation exercises, and interactive activities to keep lessons interesting and effective.
Small tests will be conducted every class/week and bigger tests after each chapter/theme.
My goal is to help students feel motivated, confident, and comfortable using Japanese in real situations.
